Overview

Hi gentlemen and ladies (if present),

I wanted to bring together a few aspects of the degen life into a fun event. The first two parts will allow you to accrue chips based on your finishes, which will then carry over into the poker tournament. The payouts will be approximately:

• 15% March Madness picks
• 15% Golf
• 70% Poker event

Golf skills of all levels are welcome! We will create teams as fairly as possible based on handicaps. If you don't play golf, you are welcome to have a friend participate in that portion for you.

Based on your results, you could start the poker tournament with as few as 40,000 chips or as many as 100,000 chips, with everyone else somewhere in between.

March Madness picks will take place March 21-22 and can be submitted via email or text from anywhere.
The golf and poker event will be held in Scottsdale, AZ, on March 31st and April 1st.

Part 1: Sports Picks (March 21-22)

• Each entrant will pick 30 of the 32 games in the opening round of March Madness.
• Top 10% will be paid out (15% of prize pool).
• Chip stacks will be awarded from 20K (last place) to 50K (first place).

Part 2: Golf (March 31) at Mountain Shadows

• 4-man scramble with teams formed based on player skill levels.
• Lowest scoring team gets an immediate payout.
• The top teams enter a shoot-out for most of the prize pool.
• Chip stacks range from 20K to 50K.

Part 3: Poker (April 1) at Talking Stick Resort

• PLO Mix event with 5 Card PLO, Big O, and 5 Card Double Board.
• $1K bounties per knockout.
• $3K Anti-nit Booby Prize for first elimination.
• $5K High Hand of the Day.
• $2K bonus for the first 10 players dealt a full house or better.
• Regular poker prize pool payouts (top 12% of field).

Side Notes

• Will organize a block of rooms at poker rate at Talking Stick Resort for out-of-town players if you want to stay on property. Golf course is 10 minutes away.
• The golf teams will be drawn randomly in front of several people the day before the event at a bar for whoever wants to show up and watch.
• There will be a few entries where one person plays golf and a different person plays poker. Not for strategic choices, just for a few guys who want to participate but don't golf. They will be required to pay a $6.5 entry instead of $6k, and this will be policed to prevent advantage stacking.
• I would like to run this every year and will be open to feedback and suggestions for improvements.
